"Angel"

“My work has always been rooted in a fascination for the figure, moving between realism and abstraction.

"Ascent"

"Mare and Foal"

"In recent work I have turned from studies of the human figure to exploring animal forms: horses, birds, sea life, etc.. The cast paper pieces transform human forms—these begin with body molds— into winged ones.

"Butterfly"

"Air"

"This exploration of animal forms was inspired by my children’s fascination with the natural world, and their creativity in drawing what they see and imagine.

"Under their influence I’ve learned to have more fun with my art. I want all of my work to be visually challenging, but increasingly these days I want it to be uplifting as well.”

"Gull"

Watercolors

What any true painting touches is an absence - an absence of which, without painting, we might be unaware. And that would be our loss.
